Predator Turned Prey at the Rhyl SeaQuarium. (October 2009)
On the 10th October we will be celebrating national shark week, everyday for a week at the Rhyl SeaQuarium. Sharks are one of the most fascinating, beautiful and inspiring of all marine animals, however, when 75 million are killed every year, they are seriously threatened with extinction.
All week at the SeaQuarium we will be supporting this national campaign, with special talks and events. So come along and get involved with shark treasure and competitions with prizes ranging from cuddly sharks to free repeat entry to the SeaQuarium.
These animals need our help, and this week of special events around the country are designed to raise awareness of the problems they face. We are also asking for your help, we hope to gain signatures to press European politicians to help protect these animals before its too late.
There are over 30 species of sharks that frequently occur in British waters, and you can see some of these here at Rhyl SeaQuarium, along with marine life from Seals and Sea Lions, to conger eels and crabs your sure to be amazed and entertained.
So come along, have a great day out, and help support our campaign, without your help these amazing animals face an uncertain future.
